On Monday night, January 22, at around 10:00 p.m., a fire broke out in a four-story apartment building on Boynton Avenue just off Watson Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx. Three residents and three firefighters suffered injuries.

The fire started on the second floor of the building and spread to other levels. According to the FDNY, more than 130 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. It took firefighters a few hours to get the three-alarm blaze under control.

The American Red Cross is assisting seven households, including at least 13 adults who were left homeless due to the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
