Won $2.125 for a Case The Insurance Company Offered $30K to Settle

Michael Ronemus took a verdict in what was perhaps the last verdict before the nationwide shutdown. The verdict was returned on 3/19/20 in Bronx New York. Michael represented Alicia Osario who was injured when a car she was driving was struck in the rear on 1/22/16. Ms. Osorio sustained a herniated disc in her neck and after conservative treatment, she underwent removal of her herniated cervical intervertebral disc and fusion of her 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae with a plate and screws. State Farm Insurance argued that the impact was not sufficient to cause Ms. Osorio’s injuries and offered $30 thousand to settle the case. The jury deliberated two days and disagreed with State Farm and returned a verdict for a total of $2.125 million, right before the COVID-19 lockdown worldwide.
